Read the adopted-basis strip#
Power Planning opens to Requirements. The adopted-basis strip shows its reference and revision, required power, confirmed supply, unresolved power and reporting date. A missing or unsupported value stays unknown; it is not zero.
Use Available supply and Basis details to inspect the input versions, source warnings, qualifications and assumptions supporting the displayed balance. A reviewed workflow state does not certify available electrical capacity.
Keep scenarios separate#
Scenarios preserve alternatives and their inputs. Saving or comparing a scenario does not adopt it. Only the explicit authorized adoption workflow changes the adopted basis.
Read the actual conservative calculation#
The adopted-basis calculator supports recorded MW/kW real-power inputs; MVA/kVA are not silently converted. Required power is unknown when a listed requirement is missing, incompatible or unsupported. Confirmed power requires at least one supply row and every listed supply row to be confirmed, valid for the reporting date and compatible. A listed requested/assumed, expired, missing or incompatible supply row makes that aggregate unknown; the application does not substitute a partial sum or zero. Unresolved power is calculated only when both required and confirmed totals are known.
Inputs and terminology#
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Real power | W, kW and MW describe real power. A number recorded in apparent-power units is not silently counted as real power. |
| Apparent power | VA, kVA and MVA remain distinct. A conversion needs its independently verified basis. |
| Compatible basis | Boundary, phase and time basis must be compatible before values can be combined. |
| Requested supply | Power that has been requested but is not a confirmed supply input. |
| Assumed supply | A stated planning assumption, kept separate from recorded confirmation. |
| Confirmed supply | A recorded confirmed row must match the basis boundary and phase, be valid on the reporting date, and use a supported real-power value/unit. The validity end is exclusive. |
| Committed-load assumption | A recorded demand/load input used by requirements and screening. Its name does not make it available confirmed supply. |
Procedure#
Confirm the planning context
Check the organization, project, boundary, phase and reporting date before reading a total.
Inspect the supporting basis
Open Basis details and follow the retained source references. Check whether supply is confirmed, assumed or requested.
Verify the result#
You can identify the adopted revision and explain which inputs are confirmed, unresolved or outside the compatible basis.
What happens next#
Inspection and scenario comparison do not authorize procurement, energization or engineering acceptance.
